Dogs shouldn't suffer and die for the trade in their meat: we want an end to the dog meat trade throughout Asia. We urge the governments of all countries where the trade in dog meat exists to work diligently and quickly towards eradicating this cruel and unnecessary practice.

Much of the world sees dogs as their trusted companions, but in parts of Asia they suffer terribly as victims of the trade in dog meat for human consumption. HSI/Europe works in China, South Korea, Indonesia and Viet Nam to end this cruelty.

HSI/Europe is working with local organizations in South Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and India to sensitize the public about the harmful dog meat trade that thrives in these countries. We actively shut down farms in South Korea, assist farmers as they transition to more humane livelihoods, support our local Chinese partners in intercepting dog meat traders’ trucks, fund the care of confiscated and rescued animals and lobby for better laws throughout Asia.
Humane Society International was established in US in 1991 and have grown fast around the world, gathered animal-lovers everywhere. We are volunteers, advocates, staff, we have 1,2 million supporters and most importantly thousands of financial donors. Without them we are not able to close dog meat farms, support farm animals, carry out animal rescue, care them in disasters, make changes in the ways animals are treated on farms and labs, streets and in the wild.
We love animals and we believe they do not need to suffer at all in this world. We are fighting for them.
